   1. District must develop better systems to take these problems seriously and provide objective interventions / supports.

   1. Provide support for students struggling with poverty, homelessness, mental illness, extenuating circumstances.

Support system in general for bullying, figuring out how to graduate, counseling, monitoring, kind of like a school counselor for mental health support and life-related issues. 

Boost MH counselor positions in addition to academic.

• Give kids ability to switch homerooms. Should not continue toxic situation.

School nurse???

We should have a nursing room.

Will there be a library? It was really nice (at South) to have a library. Norwegian prisons, etc. 

There needs to be some sort of system for teachers to actually adhere to 504 plans because teachers will ask if they have read it. 

There are no goddamn deadlines. We need to have standards and specific IEP or 504 need to really focus on those things and generally at a school like this that there should be systemic due-date flexibility.

We need to have more college preparedness.

It comes down to what we want ECCO to be. Is it an alternative high school that remediates kids on a human level? Or is it strict credit recovery and then you go bak to your home high school.

Prepare people for life regardless of what they want to do in their next steps. Workforce, trade school or college.

Personalized learning could easily and should be a full class. Teaching resume building and how to interview and where. Teaching life things. Appropriate clothing and appropriate tech. 

Resume idea. 

We must make sure that we express the importance of getting teachers who focus on the human-first approach. So important to have teachers who are human and have the ability to connect.
